Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry at South Harborcreek is part of the Pastoral Care

Ministry. It is a ministry that reflects the love of Christ and through

that love comes healing and wholeness. We equip and empower

lay caregivers--called Stephen Ministers--to provide high-quality,

confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting. God

works through Stephen Ministers to plant a seed of hope and

healing in a person whose life seems barren and forlorn because

of some crisis or tragedy.

This ministry began in 2013. Since then we have trained men and women from all walks of life to serve as Stephen Ministers. Most become Stephen Ministers as a way to serve others, but quickly discover the amazing blessings God gives them in return. Stephen Ministry will be a success here at South Harborcreek UMC because we care about hurting people.
