If you have any questions on safe santuary clearances at South Harborcreek United Methodist Church contact us using the form to the right.

Safe Sanctuaries is the frame work for protecting the children and volunteers at our church. There is a Biblical mandate as well as a Western Pennsylvania United Methodist Conference mandate that is in agreement with the new state law concerning volunteers.

All volunteers, 18 years and older, who work directly with children and youth, birth through 12th grade, are required to have the state criminal and child abuse clearances. These are to be renewed every three years. In most class rooms there are 2 volunteers per room. The class rooms are regularly monitored by designated observers. The paid staff of the church have to have these two clearances as well as the FBI clearance.
